Salon Vim by Chez Vous: The Experience

Before i start this post, i'll have to say that i become very anal when it comes to me stepping into a salon. Whether issit the washing/ cutting/ dye/ blow dry/ trim even the attitude of my stylist can drive me nuts if something goes wrong.

That's the reason why i only visit the salon once a year.

So like my normal routine hair cut every year, i went down to Salon Vim for a hair cut.

I knew about Salon Vim and my hair stylist, Gary whose the director of Salon Vim after attending the Bloggers' launch by Loreal professionnel introduction their Mythic Oil and Stylist products. And of course, as Director of Salon Vim by Chez Vous, one the salons designated by Loreal Professional as their flagship store, Gary was one of the speakers at the launch.

During the launch, the blogger were sitting around "complaining" about our hair issues to gary and of course i did a ton of questioning about my FLAT!!! hair. My questions were answered BUT my problem is not solved. My hair is still flat and i got more and more fustrated by it each day.

So straight after the Lunar new year holidays, i made an appointment at Salon Vim to see gary.

Although, Salon Vim is located in the heart of orchard road, the interior deco of the salon was surprising simple. And by simple i DUN mean run down. Simple earthy colors, clear cut lines and cool natural light made the salon less sophisticated and more edgy with its natural simplicity. I remember reading somewhere that a salon shouldnt be fulled with fancy colors, decos and lighting as only the simplest environment can show the true color, texture and style of ones hair.

I understand that there words in some of the local forums that Salon Vim is very overhyped and all advertorials. I have my own doubts after making the appointment, doubts about their service and most importantly if they are going to hard sell me products!! *HATE IT THE MOST!!* But, i still went for my appointment and even brought my personal barber (boyfie) with me.

Upon arrival, we were shown to our seats and were served drinks and even biscuits. I didn't have to wait too long for Gary to come over and say "Hey, i remember you from the product launch". I told him i wanted a hair cut cause i needed a change in style and i've had enough of my flat hair. Gary asked if there is a particular style i wanted and how much length can he take off. And my answer to him was, i dunno and please dun take off too much length.

i was than sent to the basin for hair wash. Remember i said that i become super anal when it comes to my hair? Hair wash is one of the service that i seriously hate, it's either the water is too cold or the person's nails are too long or water splashing all over my face or rubbing of my ears for no reason. However, the hair wash at Salon Vim was a rather enjoyable one.

Not too much pressure was used, no wash splashing all over the place, the lady that helped me with the hair wash also checked the water temperature with me and the head massage was a rather relaxing one plus she took her time during the head massage no rush and no sudden pressure. *feelingzen* After hair wash, my hair was blown dry.

Next, Its Gary's action time *sounds like some kind of action hero act, but Gary is seriously very friendly*, he did his little consultation and told me it's extremely important as he need to know what his clients really want before he figures something for them against their problems/ requirements. As i do not have a particular style that i wanted, i told gary it were be up to him BUT he have to help me with 3 problems under 1 condition.

Problem no. 1: I have got really flat hair
Problem no 2: My hair parting has been since forever and i'm afraid my hairline is starting to move up
Problem no 3: The ends of my hair tends curl toward my right if they are over cut.
And,the condition: he is only able to take away 1 inch of my hair length

My boyfie was sitting beside me looking rather irritated about me being a pain in gary's ass but no problem, my hair is in good hands!

Gary gave me full body hair at the ends, he did explain his cut and i remembered hearing him mention triangle scut?? or something along the line. Cannot really remember as he was talking and telling me alot of stuff about himself, his path to success and his passion for hair modifications! *super word to use* I mentioned he was really friendly remember? Anyway, problem 3 solved as full body hair can weigh down my hair and prevent them from going haywire.

He then move to the top, did some snaps and instantly volume appear, he also helped me change my hair parting and teach me how to maintain it. So again problem 1 and 2 solved.

Gary also took the pain to style my hair and made mi look so good, everyone on my facebook page went crazy. BUT the truth is i did not perm my hair!! i know the curl looks super gorgeous and i look super feminine with them but it only lasted awhile *sadface*

After!! pretty much!? i want those curls!!

Anyway, i dun feel that the praises and advertorial are too much for Salon Vim. They provide good service, project professionalism and a whole load of friendliness. What can anyone ask for??

I do admit that the price tag may be a wee bit high but we humans need to pamper ourselves once in a blue moon when our pocket allows us too...

Show & Tell Monday: Let's talk - Being Slim and Thin is Different!

It's Show and Tell Monday again! Missed last month cause i spent the xmas and new year very sick and not only that my laptop crash on me too! What a way to end 2011 and start 2012. But nonetheless, here's the second Show and Tell Monday.

When i was pondering on what to write for this show and tell as i didn't want to do a product and i was going through the worst diarrhea of my life so no mood for products and how tos. So here's my opinion on an issue that i think has been a problem for many. The line between being slim and thin.

This thought came to me after i saw this video on youtube that documents people's weird obsession over the things they eat, do and love. Anyway, in one of the episode, they featured Isabelle Caro.

If you are a fan of the fashion industry, you would have remembered her from the billboard in milan during fashion week 2007.

For those that don't know her, please do not mistaken that Isabelle Caro is a ordinary woman who suffered from anorexia due to high fashion influence. A little on Isabelle Caro, a french model & actress suffering from anorexia since the age of 13. According to the some online information, Isabelle was standing at 1.65m and weighing only 25kg at the worst of her eating disorder. Isabelle only realize her anorexia problem only after she slipped into a coma in 2006. However, Isabelle tried as much as she can to fight her disease and also told the world her story and that anorexia is a sickness NOT a trend.

However, Isabelle Caro lost her battle against anorexia and passed away in Nov 2010 at the age of only 28.

In the past, even in the western society, curvaceous woman was seen as beauty as a fuller body means healthy, desirable and at the same time, fuller woman are considered ideal mothers with the extra resource to nurture their babies. Being thin in the past is seen poverty. However, in today's world, easy access to food has changed the situation. Fatness has lost it's symbol of health and thinness no longer poverty but beauty and sometimes even status.

Thin people are beautiful, thats what the society was told when super skinny models walk the runways. But thats fashion. High fashion that alot of people can only see and read via the media and can nv be realistic to many. Plus, known only to a handful of people as compare to the thin image the fashion world projects, size zero model are ban from the high fashion runways.

See i believe it is in everyone that we humans like to be adored and looked upon as a pretty individual. And it all right in my opinion to be a little under the standard weight against your height. But if you are standing at a height of 170cm and weighing 40 odd kg and telling me you are on some kind of diet. seriously! go talk to someone.

It may sound really hypocrite of me to be saying that as i had my share of thinspiration obsession, irritating the fuck out of everyone that my thigh is fat, my waist is thick, i eat too much and etc. Well, even till today as i'm writing this post i keep thinking of how my stomach is going to handle the 4 piece fried chicken i had yesterday and today. But what's the right way of keeping my body in shape and not be obese?

The simple old theory of eat right and exercise!!!!

Here's my little journey from being 62kg in Jan 2009 to 52kg now.

Although i only loss 10kg, this amount is seriously enough to affect my life. I started my dieting as i was going through stress during my examination period and my eating spree was crazy. However, 2 weeks after my exams was my sister's wedding. So to look good i put myself on a low carbohydrate diet.

I stopped taking rice, bread and even noodles. All i had for a day was, a cup of coffee or milo for breakfast, A bowl of fish soup for lunch, alittle snack for tea and another bowl of soup for dinner (of course, i do have proper dinner if i'm out with my friends). This continued for 1 year and by the end of 1 year, i weighed 55kg.

The lost of 5 kg did not affect me much as i did not exercise and my job did not require for me to move alot. So i continued my diet for another 5 months without feeling wrong. By the end of 1.5 years, i was 52 kg and i could skip breakfast, have salad for lunch and nothing for dinner but still feel all right occasionally tired but i though it was due to work stress.

It was till i've decided that i wanted to start exercising that made me realize i need to eat. I started pole dancing about 4 to 5 months ago and the start of it was horrible. I kept feeling dizzy during and after classes for the 1st course as i didnt realize that till my classmates told me that it was coz i didnt have food before pole classes. So i started eating and realizing that i need food to burn out if i were to exercise and to make sure i maintain at a healthy weigh i must have a balance between my food intake and my exercise.

And even so, my body wasnt able to recuperate itself fast enough and my recent diarrhea episode sounded the alarm. I wasn't able to cope with the medicine prescribed by my doctor and even after the diarrhea stopped, i wasnt able to recover fully and 1 week after the diarrhea i fell ill again.

Not only that i've realized that it has seriously affected my physical conditions, my physical appearance changed so much that my friends was at one point asking if i had enough money to feed myself. My use to be full body had downsized from a 12-10 to a now size 8.

I'm not trying to courage anyone who has read this post to diet like i have. I know many may think that a tall and slim body is the most desirable body anyone could ask for. But the fact is we have pushed the slim image so much towards thin that many did not realize dangerous it can get.

And even more ridiculous are the articles on people being proud and preaching about thinspiration. Obviously, many did not know the amount of people that are dying due to malnutrition.

My point here is simple. Being Slim means eating, exercising and enjoy every bit of life to the fullest. Not need to be over obsessed with being too fat or too thin cause life is too short for us to be too worried about the amount of lumps we are showing.

Bifesta- Celebrates Beauty

As i've mentioned in my previous post on Hado Labo Cleansing oil, I'm no big fan of cleansing oils so how do i remove my make up?

Well, for the longest time, i've been wanting to write about this product but i guess i've been too lazy.. *I've been busy i mean* and also this product would have easily made to Show and Tell Monday, if i don't attend the event held by Mandom Corp.

So.. Bifesta..

Not a very familiar makeup remover brand? maybe Cleansing Express may ring a bell?

Yes! Bifesta is the more refine and new version of Cleansing Express.

The reason Bifesta is my go to make up remover is because it is a water based make up remover strong enough to remove SOME water proof mascaras.

I've been using cleansing express ever since it was available in Singapore a few years back. Now, Bifesta has bought in a whole range of cleansing lotions , Cleasing Gel, Cleansing liquid and Eye Make up Remover .

Not only have Bifesta changed their name and packaging, they have also improved their formulas with Plus-ion Hyaluronic Acid Structure that helps retain moisture on skin even after washing off.

The Bifesta Cleansing range are divided in to 2 different types. The rinse off types and the non rinse types.

Let's start with the non rinse types:

The Non Rinse cleanser are mainly the Cleansing lotion. Bifesta has got the Moist Cleansing lotion with ceramide infused for dry skin, Sebum Cleansing lotion with Green tea extract for oily skin, Brightup Cleansing lotion with saxifrage extract for dull skin and course my personal favorite, Agecare Cleansing lotion with Coenzyme Q10 for agecare.

As mentioned, i've been using the Agecare cleansing lotion since it's launch and till date i'm still loving it. However, if you are someone who has oily skin, i wouldn't recommend the Agecare cleansing lotion as it might cause break outs.

I wouldn't say that it's totally ok to not rinse off the cleansing lotion as i would recommend for anyone using the non rinse cleansing lotion to just gently rinse their face with water. But after a crazy night at the club and having to remove your make up is already a huge pain in the ass, then knowing that you can get away with not washing your face after removing your make up with the bifesta cleansing lotion is a huge relief.

Next, the rinse off cleansers:

The Rinse of cleansers consist of the Gel, liquid and Eye make up remover. All suitable for all skin types and most importantly, please make sure you wash off those cleansers before hitting the sack. Bifesta has came up with the rinse off cleanser as they understand that besides those that love the cleansing lotions, there is another group of beauty lovers the love their massage off cleansers.

I'm no big fan of cleansing gels and liquids but! Eye make up removers are a must for my current mascara as it's one of the known most stubborn mascaras.

I was surprise that the Bifesta Eye Make up remover manage to remove my mascara with just 3 wipes and dun be scared off by it's rinse off type label. Seriously the eye make up remover is not oily and has a watery texture just like the cleansing lotion.

Here i have my trusty Bifesta Agecare Cleansing Lotion and Eye Make up Remover.

How do i remove my make up using the Bifesta cleansers? Simple!
For my whole entire face, i need 5 cotton pads, yes! 5! 2 for the eyes and 3 for the face. I have got a big face so if you have got a smaller face, maybe 4 is enough.

1st: The Eyes
- We shake the eye make up remover well to make sure the Emollient layer (that help to remove water proof makeups) and the Water based layer (wraps off oil & Sebum) is well mixed together.
- Pour about a 50 cents coin size of remover on a cotton pad
- Press down gently and hold for 10sec ( hold longer for stubborn and hard to remover make up) the cotton pad on your eyes before wiping off make up
- Do the same for your other eye.

2nd: The face
-Take 2 cotton pads and pump a generous amount of cleansing lotion on the cotton. (The result i need 2 cotton pads is to make sure that the cotton pads are able to hold the cleansing lotion)
- Wipe cotton pads all over face including the eye area to remove eye make up remover
- Take other cotton pad and pump 2 pumps of cleansing lotion on cotton pad
- Wipe cotton pad all over face making sure that no there is no trace of make up left.

And, we are done.

Alittle test for all cleansing products:

Clearly the Bifesta Cleansing Lotion is strong enough to wipe off some water proof make ups BUT for less rubbing and tagging on your eye area, pair the cleansing lotion up with the eye make up remover for best results.

Show & Tell Monday: Hide them all tattoos!

It's the first Show & Tell Monday!!!

And to kick start this little segment, i would like to share with everyone a product that is used for the "hiding" of my tattoos!

Anyone that has seen me personally would know that i'm a person with multiple tattoos.And i love my tattoos, in fact, i'm suppose to complete my back piece but i'm juz to lazy to drag my ass to my artist.

You maybe wondering why i would have to cover up my tattoos if i loved them so much? well, it's kind of like an society issue. Please save me that u should walk out and be proud look. Just answer these questions and you will know where i'm coming from.

Say, if your kid or your parents or even yourself is badly injure, would you go to a doctor with a recognized doctor certificate and huge tattoo on him arm or a doctor who is more decent looking? if you are in trouble with the law and badly needed a lawyer would you want someone with a huge tattoo on his or her neck to represent you?

My point here is although we are living in this 21st century's modern society, people are still stereotyping people with tattoos. Therefore, using make up to cover my tattoos are essential in some occasions and even when i wan to change my look, from naughty to nice. *grin*

Unlike in the western part of the world, where the demand for make up and market is bigger, it's rather hard to find a product in Singapore that deals with serious imperfection coverage. I had to take the time to ask around and read up online for reviews before i decided on what to buy as i'm looking for something that has full coverage and most importantly waterproof. Good thing is i had a awesome makeup instructor that directed me to the Makeup Forever's Full cover concealer.

So while doing my online research for products, i've came across a few suggestions and some of them are Dermablend,Kat Von D concealer,Dermacolor, etc. I was considering between Dermablend and MUFE's Full Cover concealer.

Dermablend seems to be a good cover up concealer to invest in because of what it did to zombie boy in it's ad video and it comes in a bigger tube for larger areas but again it's not available in singapore which means i can't try the color and shipping is going to cost me a bomb. Also, i've seen the making video of the Zombie boy video ad for Dermablend and in the making video, Zombie boy mentioned that he could get away looking like a normal person if people were to walk pass him. So i'm interpreting it as his tattoo are still visible if one were too sit down face to face.

MUFE's Full cover concealer in the other hand is available in singapore and is waterproof! The only downside is it comes in a really small tube!!! Although, it's a very thick formula and in alot of reviews, it was mention that a little goes a long way for this concealer but i'm concealing tattoos! not blemishes or dark rings! 15ml is seriously too little!!

But, I've went ahead with purchasing the MUFE Full Cover concealer after trying it over the counter and i got mine in no. 10 and 12. 10 for my neck which is fairer and 12 for my ankle.

Like any other shelve concealers, the MUFE Full Cover Concealer looks like a normal skin color concealer at first but when applied the really thick consistance of the product could actually cover tattoos. Of course if you have dark colored tattoos, laying of the concealor is needed. As seen on the pics above, thats the tattoo on my ankle and i have got black and red inked on me. And to cover the tattoo completely, i actually had 5 layers of concealor on and using a very light layer of MAC Mineralize powder in Medium Dark to set the concealer. Note that no color enhancement is done on the pics to show the true colors of the cover up.

All i did was to apply the concealer with a make up sponge in a dapping motion, layer by layer and of course letting one layer to dry alittle before applying the next. Then using the same sponge pick up the MAC powder, set the concealer also in a dapping motion and at the same time blending the concealer and powder and the edge of the tattoo into the skin as i dun wan my cover up to end up looking like a birth mark.

Also as mentioned, the Full cover concealer is waterproof and i actually tried running my tattoo cover up under the running shower and i was amazed that the concealer stayed as it is and it only started to melt down after a little massaging.

Another thing i would like to mention about the concealer, is that it can be a little too dry. So making sure that areas i apply the concealor on must be well moisturize, avoid too much powder and using it on smaller areas for example the under eye and blemishes are not advised. Well, maybe you can try mixing it with your regular concealer or foundation if you wanna try using it on the face.

I know i've been putting up this disappearing act from my blog for awhile and my reason was always mi being too buzy... lazy actually. But during my time of disappearance, i've been exploring and learning things about make up, beauty and everything else under the sun.

So i've came up with a little segment in my blog called the Show and Tell Monday. In this segment, i'll be sharing something new every last monday of the month. No necessary would it be about beauty but everything else, whether is it something personal or something i want to rant about or a simple product i wanna share, it will all be done in this little reserved segment cause i know a whole blog filled with product ads can be boring.

Before i start i'll have to first state that i'm not the biggest fan of cleansing oils for a few reasons:

1st: To me cleansing oil are seriously super messy to work with.

2nd: If cleansing oils are not used the right way, it will cause your skin to be even more messed up with all this greasy residue causing even more clogged pores and acne.

3rd: I use to wear false lashes and i have to get they off with a water based remover before i start with the cleansing oil coz i wan to "preserve" them for further use and i dun want my falsies to look all greasy and disgusting the next time i use them.

4th: In some days of the month when i'm suffering from our monthly girly problem, i've have seriously oily skin and major breakouts and in my opinion i really dun like the idea of putting more oil on my oily face.

But like i always say, there is no bad product just a product that doesn't suit you. So i tot why not give it a try since it's sponsored.

So here goes:

Like the Hada Labo SHA hydrating Lotion and facial wash i've reviewed on before,1 of the 2 main ingredients of the Hada Labo Hydrating Cleansing oil is the Super Hyaluronic Acid which is said to have 2 times more moisture than normal hyaluronic acid where 1g can retain 12 litres of water.

The 2nd key ingredients is the Ultra Pure Olive oil that ensures high performance cleansing without irritating your skin. Apart from being able to cleanse your face, olive oils are also known to be use by the woman of old times to maintain smooth and radiant skin. Olive oils are also known to be used for anti-aging.

The reason why i dun like Cleansing oil.

Look at that super tired face after work! Seriously all i want is to sit down relax and have sometime for myself and my daughter.

Anyways, I've been using the Hada Labo Cleansing oil for the past week and i would say it's not one of the most "powerful" cleansing oil i've tried. It doesn't remove waterproof mascaras and waterproof eyeliners! I won't deny that after raising the cleansing oil off, my face feels nice, not tight or super dry. And the scent, reminds me of my childhood toy, Bestman bubble !! *GOOGLE IT* haha.

I won't say that its a bad make up remover but it's definitely not a one solution to remove all your make up at one go for those who prefer using waterproof make up.

Here's a little test to prove my statement. Also at the same time a short demo to how cleansing oil should be used.

I have on my hand 5 different liner/ pencil for eye make up and i'm going to test if the Hada Labo Cleansing oil is as good as promised.

And of course, 1st we rub abit of cleansing oil on the makeup.

Note that some liners has been removed.

The 2nd step is where alot of people think that simply just be raising off the cleansing oil with water will be sufficient.

Unfortunately, that is not the case. Our 2nd step when using a cleansing oil should be emulsion. This is where we add alittle bit of water to the cleansing oil turning it into a milky texture.

What i usually do is to rinse my hands after massaging the cleansing oil on my face, then without scooping any water, simply just rest my still wet hands *sound so wrong* on my face and gently massage. You will then notice the cleansing oil turn "milky".

The Emulsion step is where the cleansing oil can effectively remove makeup and not leave any oil residue on your skin. So it's very important.

And, last but not least. Rinse with water.

Results are, the Hada Labo Cleansing oil maybe able to remove smudge proof makeup but not waterproof make up and my skin feels nice and soft as promised.

Well, if you are not a big fan of water proof make up and your current makeup remover is turning your face in to a clay mask. I would say that the Hada Labo Cleansing oil is worth a try.

Violent Lips! - Costume for your lips this Halloween!

Not very long ago, i was on youtube watching this video on a review of a temporary lip tattoo and though it was pretty cool and wanted to try them. But the cost of shipping and waiting time stopped me from purchasing them online.

And recently and to my surprise, Violent lips are available at our locate drugstore.So no reason for me not to try them.

I got them for $19.90 each and i'm pretty excited to try them.I got mine in the Pink Cheetah and the Pink Glitterati.Not need for surprise occasion to try the Lip Tattoo.So here's a review:

The Lip Tattoos comes in a pack of 3 tattoos and a instruction card.

It is obvious that i have to trim the lip tattoo but putting them on cause i dun have lips of that size.Sounds a little hard but it's really easy coz there are guides printed behind the lip tattoo.

Pretty easy, first we pop the lip tattoo out. Next we the guide on the top and the patterns against your lips, put the top of the lip tattoo on you cupids bow and measure.Then using a pair of scissor start trimming slowly, line by line, edge by edge cause u dun one to waste any of the tattoos.

On the tattoos, it says Do not trim from the top. But after trimming the tattoo with the guides i had to trim the sides on the top cause i dun have prefect lips.

Next,peel the transparent sheet off the tattoo, stick it on to your lips,grab a piece of cotton,dip it in to water and dapping it on the tattoo till the guide slides off and the tattoo is on.

Do the same for the lower lip and you are done.

Seriously, I'm loving the lip tattoo. I love crazy bold lips. It take awhile to get use to having something on your lips but you dun feel much after awhile. I can smile as usually and the tattoo will tear but it follows the natural folds on your lips so it's not noticeable. Eat and drinking is also not any issue but i would say let the tattoo completely dry and settle on your lips before eating or drinking anything.

Two dislikes, Number one: Before the tattoo dries up completely, its a little sticky and with both the upper and lower lip on, i have keep them alittle apart cause i dun wan they to get struck together.

Number two: The other side of the tattoo is white in color, so if the tattoo tear or one side of the tattoo flip, it's pretty obvious.

Although having a lip tattoo on feels a little weird in the beginning and extra care is needed when i have them on, i'll buy them again COZ i can have pretty, crazy lips and still kiss anyone i want without smudging anything.

Fillers and botox?? why not?

I understand that Plastic Surgery has already became a norm in most countries. However, ironic enough or not, in this very modern sunny island that i'm living in, we still find NEWS on whether Tom has got his nose done or if Mary's tits are real!

I dunno why people react so weirdly against plastic surgery but for me i dun see it as a crime or something to be a shame about. It's just like i have a weaker heart, i cannot live with it therefore i need to have an defibrillator implant. No difference between i have a flat nose i cannot live with it therefore i have a nose implant.

So ya Plastic Surgery is normal and for me it's perfectly ok BUT that is if you have the money, high pain tolerance, done heaps of research, found a good plastic surgeon and know exactly what you want.

However, it is always better to have seek a less costly and less painful alternative before we made the drastic decision of going under the knife. Alternative such as Fillers and Botox are available to raise that nose bridge/ brows, fill that wrinkle and reshape that angular face.

YES, i know coz trust me Jawline Reduction or jaw shaving and Rhinoplasty or nose implant have been on the top of my "must do improvement" list

And so with the accompany and recommendation of a friend, i went to get those fillers and botox done!!!!

Both my fillers and botox are done by the same doc in an aesthetic clinic.

Above is a pic of me taken back in 2009 with my beautiful daughter and it's pretty obvious why i'm complaining about my nose and face.

Angular face and flat nose bridge!

Let's talk botox first!

My face has always been the joke of my family since i can remember! Why? cause no one in my family has got a more angular face! not only that my face is angular, it's also wide! like a WIDE SCREEN PLASMA TV!

The reason behind my wide angular face are
1) bone structure which botox cannot help
2) my night teeth grinding habits since i was a gal, that help me build strong muscle around my jaw

And if teeth grinding and well built jaw muscles are contributing to my wide angular face, then chewing will too! so stop that gum chewing!

Anyway, during consultation the doc ( Dr. Myint) told me to clench my jaw and felt my jaw muscle. She advised that it would be more practical for me to take up their jaw reshaping package as i had really bulging muscle and alot of botox is needed.

She said that the botox will have relax and "paralyze" the jaw muscles therefore achieving a slimming and smaller face. She mention that i would need to keep my face in a upright position and no massaging of area for the first 4 hrs to prevent the botox from effecting other areas of my face and slight bruising may occur the next day. Also i had to avoid all heat treatments to prolong the longevity of my botox.

The package consisted of 2 session. 1 main and 1 touch up for both sides but of course the doctor is kind enough to touch up my botox for free during the follow up after my main session =D

30 units of botox was used (if i nv remember wrong) for my face and the experience wasn't painful at all.. of course the nurse press some ice pack on the sides of my face to numb it alittle but seriously it feels just like normal injection. I was asked to lay down, clench my jaw again for the doc to do her markings and relax... and after 2 jabs on each side, I'm done!

A quick 10 mins and i'm out of the room.

And after 2 months...

Smaller, sharper face =)

Although, i've got a smaller and sharper face now. I kinda loss my left smile alittle, maybe it's cause i've laid on one side without noticing within the first 4 hrs, i've spoken to dr. Myint and no worries, my smile will come back when my botox start to loss it's effect 6 to 9 mths later.For now i'm very happy with my face.

Next, Fillers.

My decision of nose fillers came later as initially i wanted to correct my double eye lid but later decided that i can live with my unbalanced eye lids and hated my flat nose more.

During consultation, Dr, Myint recommended that i do 1ml of fillers for the end of my forehead to the tip of my nose, she also tried pulling my nose bridge trying to show me the height of nose bridge after the filler but seriously.. i still cannot imagine.

After the consultation, Dr Myint's assistant cleanse my nose area (with wat i think is alcohol wipes) and applied numbing cream on my nose bridge area. 15 to 20 mins later Dr Myint came into the room, wiped the numbing cream off and started marking my nose with a white pencil.

Then comes the fillers, FYI if u dunno.. fillers are injected in to the area needed. During my reseach, i've read some reviews written by local bloggers saying that fillers are NOT painful. BUT my personal experience is, FILLER ARE PAINFUL! i can't even remember how many jabs i got cause more than half the time i'm concentrating on not letting my tears fall due to the pain. Seriously, how can "an ant bite" mentioned by the other blogger make someone with multiple tattoos tear!!

My goodness! I almost had to get Dr Myint to stop! Even with the numbing cream and pressing of cold pack also dun seem to help at all.

Anyway, after dr myint is done with my 1ml of filler she added alittle more to even out my nose and forehead area saying that my forehead look like it protruding out. Apart from the injecting of fillers, alot of pinching also took place during the session to shape the fillers.

The whole session took about 30 to 40 mins. My nose felt as if something heavy is pressing on my nose. In the picture my nose bridge super define not cause of my fillers BUT cause my nose is swollen. Dr Myint mention that swelling/ discomfort and bruising may occur for the next 3 days, Prolong pressure on area with fillers and heat treatment (sauna/ suntanning beds/ hot water) are also not allowed for 2 weeks. That means that specs and sunglasses are not allowed.

Discomfort level for the first 2 days after filler was not very bad but i kept winding and winding and winding cause it felt like someone just punched me really hard on the nose. The fillers seemed to be still soft on the 1st week as i could push them slightly from left to right * i knw it's really gross haha* But after 1.5 weeks the fillers seem to have harden and it became more prominent.

I don't really like my nose after the 1st filler session as it looked really weird and unnaturally narrow. So during my follw up session, i had Dr. Myint touch up my nose to raise the nose bridge alittle more and even out the too narrow bridge for a more natural look.

I'm loving my nose to the max now. Although the tip is still a little too big (which cannot be helped). I'm still happy that my nose is now more defined and a higher nose bridge means a slightly longer looking face.

Although botox and filler are expensive and temporary corrections to some of my facial imperfection, i felt that its a really good start for those that are considering plastic surgery as it help to show the result of how you would look like after the surgery and since they are temporary, it's easier to get rid of them then to go for multiple surgery to fix your corrections right.

Now that i've seen myself with a higher nose bridge and a smaller face. I am planning and still considering a rhinoplasty and alarplasty for my nose. Given the fact that i understand and know what i want for my nose i would be able to tell my surgeon my expectations. However, botox will still remain my small face solution as i dont think i'll be able to take the healing pain.

Also if u are planning for a rhinoplasty after fillers, it is recommended by Dr. Myint to wait for the fillers to wear off before going for the surgery and do inform your surgeron about the fillers as he/she can remove any reminds.

Empowerment under the sun with sunplay.

Yes, simply just by the name you know it's the name of yet another sun block. Seriously living in sunny singapore, i not only have to worry about looking shitty when i start sweating due to the heat. I too have to worry about freckles, pigments and AGING problem due to the sun!

HOWEVER!!!! with all these grumbles... I'm still grateful that i'm living in a sunny island surrounded with seas.. in another words the beach is just 30 mins away~ weee!

Envy much yet?? ha!

ok let's get serious.

Sunplay recently introduced a new revolutionary non greasy, waterproof Super sunblock! The Sunplay 130 with SPF 130 which allows maximum outdoor protection.

I was given 2 products from thesamplestore to review sometime ago but didn't have the chance to try it so..*lookingforexcuseformylaziness!* yah here's the post!!

ok first impression when i received the products, i though sunplay 130 was one of those greasy, "sport brand" that are more suitable for men.. and i was only more interested in the body mist.
But, only after trying the products for me to realize that the body mist actually not suitable for daily use as it is alittle sticky which may cause your clothes to stick to ur body also it gives your skin the super greasy shiny look.

But, a sun block that doesn't work well for shopping or work do not mean it doesn't work well at the beach!

i would say the body mist worked perfectly on the beach and why? 2 things.

First, convenience. all i had to do was to pop open the mist and spray all over. i was even misting myself with sunblock while walking to the beach. I guess people that are walking pass me would be wondering why i'm applying mosquito repellant only it smelled way better.

Next, It does wat it's suppose to do! yes! after laying on the beach for a straight 6 hrs, i did not experience any burns or any peeling. I won't deny that i did became tanner but that was my purpose laying on the beach with the sun hang right on top of me.

Also, it gives my body that shiny shine that you wan people to see when u are walking on the beach in your bikini!!

After, protecting your body from the sun, now it's the most important part of your body! The face!

Yes, i didn't use the body mist on my face as i dun like my face to look sticky and shiny. So, i used the Sunplay 130 all over my face.

I know i've mentioned that my first impression for the sunplay 130 was not very good and why would i use it on my face.

It's because after trying it on my hands, the super block is NOT only non greasy, it feels very light and it does not cause my face to look white or even causing me to sweat "milk".

It's easier to apply as compare to sunblocks that come in cream form. Imagine applying sun blocks that are in cream form with your hands filled with sand. Pretty impossible right! So, due to it's light weigh and easy to apply formula, i using it on days when i'm too lazy to do my daily skincare regime but have to head out.

And of course, the sunplay 130 super block protected my face from the sun. No peeling, no redness just a beautiful sunkiss glow. =D

One thing before i end this post, although it states waterproof on the label, PLEASE reapply ur sunblock afew times regardless of which brand u are using for total protection!!!

And with the mascara's gold and luxurious look, it also promises 13 times more volume and curl that last all day long with its specially formulation and wand.

Let's start with what is in the mascara.

Formulated with:

Amplifying Collagene, that helps plump up lashes instantly to give you that jet set volume without weighing the lashes down.

Film Wrapped Polymer, that help set lashes in its curling position. And, Extra Hard Olive Wax, which fixes and holds the lashes in it curling position to last all day long.

The mascara may sound very stubborn *which means hard to remove*, but surprisingly it is only smudge proof! which means that it can be easily removed with warm water.

Next, the wand!

The Loreal Curl Impact Collagene comes with a 2-sided spiral brush that is specially designed for asian lashes. Allowing effective application and reach to all those short and sparse lashes.

Why i like it:

I absolutely love mascaras that wands come with 2 sides , one flat and one rounded. The reason i love wands like that is because i'm nv a big fan of eye lash curlers, in fact i can't remember when was the last time i actually used a eyelash curler on myself.

And whats my trick to a curlier lash, The flat side of the mascara. YES! all i did was to raise my head alittle and look down into the mirror when i'm applying my mascara with the flat side first.

One of the reason i like mascara with flat side is because most of the products are strucked in the center of the wand and a full round brush mascara wand wouldnt allow us reach to the center of the wand, where all the products are. But with the flat side of the wand access to more product is given. Not only the products, with the flat side of the wand, i am able to give my lashes a little lift/ push everytime i apply my mascara, giving my lash that eyelash curler curling effect.

Why i dun like it:

As contradicting as it can get, i'm having a love hate relationship with the mascara itself. The product is super thick and it allows immediate volume for my lashes BUT too much of product and my lashes turn into cockroach legs!! Also, the formula is a little wet. Although it doesnt take a long time to dry, still.. i dont really like wet formulas coz stupid things like sneezing while applying mascara always happens to me, sound stupid but it's real.

I guess as a whole the Loreal curl impact collagene is a good mascara for those with fine and straight or droopy lashes cause it gives volume and curl plus it holds your curls for the entire day.

oh yes one thing to mention. Removing this mascara... on the package of this mascara it states that the product is smudge proof which means it is removable with warm water. I've tried removing it with my cleansing wipes but a little rubbing is needed. I've also tried removing it by walking into the shower and guess wat, the mascara came off without mi rubbing and tugging. So, warm water is the key to removing this mascara.

You guyz remember the Vichy Anti Imperfection Challenge? Not very long ago i was invited to attend the showcase of another skincare series by Vichy, The Vichy Bi-WHITE Reveal range.

ok end of commercial break. Let's get back to the products. I was given the whole range of Bi-WHITE reveal products to try and i've added some of them to my 'day' skincare routine.

Before i actually start talking about the products, i want to first set my humble opinion on whitening straight.

There is something about us asian girls wanting to be fair. The "i want to be fairer" trend is so bad, to an extent of one walking into a profession make up bouquet, gets the make up artist to pick her foundation shade and requesting for a shade lighter a day after the purchase cause her entire family feels that its to dark WHEN the foundation is clearly her skin tone.

Seriously i dun understand why..why do people want their face to look like its attached to the wrong body??

For me, Whitening is not about turning myself from Pocahontas to Snow white. It about giving my already tan face that glow.. hmmm.. something like if u are fair u wan to be fair not pale, for me it's i wan to be glowing tan NOT dull. Point is i dun believe that i can change my skintone completely just by applying products. ok products! First, the Concentrate, Essence and Eye cream.

Deep Cell-Whitening Spot Intervention:

This new baby of Vichy's Bi-WHITE reveal range comes in a cream/ gel like texture. I do not have serious freckles or spot problem but this product did help me lighten some of my slight skin discoloration due to pimples. I also apply this product around the corners of my nose where it tends to be a little darker than the rest of my face.

Double Corrective Whitening Essence:

My 2nd favourite product of the range. Unlike most essence that i've tried, the double corrective whitening essence is very light. Not only that it is not sticky, it does not give my face that super shiny look and it smells nice... like vanilla...

Anti-Dark Circle Whitening Corrective Eye Care:
I'm never a fan of eye creams cause most eye cream can be too rich for my eyes and i'll start to grow milia seeds, i can't blame the products cause it's a generic issue but i try to prevent it by staying away from eye creams. I know that all of doctors may say that milia seeds has got nothing to do with eye creams but for me i'll rather not take the risk.

Having say that i always run away from eye creams, the Anti Dark Circle Whitening Corrective Eye Care comes in a creamy gel like texture which feels lighter than most eye cream. I do notice that my dark circles are lighter now after more than 3 weeks of use and most importantly no milia seeds.

Double Corrective Whitening Day Cream SPF20:
The day moisturizer of this range. Like my eye cream, i rarely use cream moisturizer cause i've got combination skin and cream moisturizer be too rich for me causing my face to look super oily and shiny by mid day. But the Double corrective whitening day cream does not cause my face to be shiny. In fact it has got this mattifying finish to it plus it is also SPF 20. Although, it's too low for many, but being the 'i can nv get enough sleep' kind of person, little protect is good protect during lazy days!!

All the goodness apart, there is two things i wanna mention about this day cream. First, if you the kind of gal that uses your moisturizer as a base for ur powder, then this is NOT the moisturizer you are looking for. Perhaps it's the mattifying finish that doesn't hold on to powders.

Second, I not sure if anyone of you has realized but i feel that whitening moisturizers tend to give the skin a white cast, which i really do not like! So, please do not spam this moisturizer on your face then blame it for giving u milk sweat.

Double Corrective Whitening Night Cream:
This is the last step of my night skincare routine. I have always believe that night time is the time where skin repairs and regenerate all the good cells. And the products we put on our faces every single night are there to give some of our "not very hard working" cells a push! And the double corrective whitening night cream helps to neutralize existing melanin allowing my skin to look more radiant.

In all, i feel that the Vichy Bi-WHITE Reveal range is one whitening range that i will go back too cause the products that i've tried are really light,they dont give me that oily/sticky/"i have too much product on face" feeling and till date i have yet to experience any breakout. Results from the product can be seen especially for my dark undereye! BUT! Please do not think that i've become fairer..

Before i start my post on the Foltene hair care series, i thought this would also be a good time for me to show my readers my new hair....

Its not the change in my hair color this time BUT! a change in the style and length! YES! i've chopped more than half of my precious *took me 4 years to grow out* hair!

OK not much difference..

But still.. with all my super dry ends chopped off, there is no need for rich shampoo. Of course, i would still need to have something that gives me that soft and silky hair but now i need something gentle and effective. Something that can give me soft hair and NOT oily scalp.

Oily scalp has been a huge problem for me, personally i've got oily scalp and the weather in singapore is not doing my oily scalp any better and to make my problem worse i've got really fine and thin hair. Which means oily scalp/ oily hair + fine and thin hair = FLAT HAIR!!

When i was searching for a shampoo and conditioner, Mark "the not your everyday" marketing manager came along and showered me with 2 awesome products: Foltene Restructuring Shampoo and Revitalizing Conditioner.

I'm sure most of us would be most familiar with the Foltene Eyelash and eyebrow treatment as it can be seen on the cashier counters of our local pharmacy. But unknown to many of us, Foltene is one of the leading pioneers in hair treatments.

Here's some information of the Restructuring Shampoo and Revitalizing Conditioner from foltene.com.sg:

Not stated in the description above, hair care products by Foltene are SLES free. SLES is the initial for Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which is a dissolving/ foaming agent found in many personal care products. And SLES is known to cause Skin or eye irritation. So with Foltene's SLES formula, their products are suitable for all scalps including sensitive scalps.

And here's my review:

Let's start with the Restructuring Shampoo:

The first thing that came to my mind when i first set my eyes on the products are the packaging! Seriously, the packaging of most " dermatologically tested" products have no match to many of our off shelf brands that we see everyday. Even the scent and the look of the product itself is not as attractive. But dont be deceived but they "too serious and boring" look!

Sorry for my bias first impression but my initial bias-ness towards this product bite my right at the ass when i tried the shampoo. As mentioned, i had problems with the shampoo that i was using previous which was working totally fine when i still having long hair.

Foltene Restructuring Shampoo

My previous shampoo was too rich, which was good for my long and dried out hair but now that all the nasty dry ends are gone. The richness of my previous shampoo gave me oily hair problems! I had to rush home from work just to shampoo my hair before i head out for the night.

Now that i'm using Foltene, i don't have problems with oily hair. I do not have to rush here and there anymore and i do not have flat and shiny hair till the end of the day. And if you are thinking that i'm now suffering from rough dry hair... no.. my hair is soft! Soft and smooth...

I love this shampoo cause my hair no longer look flat. But there is one thing i must mention, you know how shampoo advertisement always have their model standing in the shower, shampooing their hair with luxury and rich looking foams. Please don't expect that for this shampoo cause it's SLES free!!

The Foltene Revitalizing Conditioner:

Foltene Revitalizing Conditioner

Unless any other conditioners i've used, the Foltene Revitalizing Conditioner does not give me that "i still have product on my hair after raising it" feeling. It is super easy to raise off and it is not oily at all. And since it is not oily, it's ok to have this conditioner near your scalp! Also, this conditioner also got aloe vera!! and aloe vera helps stimulate cells for hair growth! One more step to thicker hair!!

Nail & Lash pamper @ Musee Crystal Tokyo - Part 2 Eyelashes!!

Here's part 2 of my Musee Crystal Tokyo experience and i'm sure this is the part where all of my "Asian short lash" readers go crazy about!

Eyelash extensions!!

Majority of the people from the western side of this world may not understand the need of eyelash extensions BUT the unkind truth for us asians is that we have got short and straight/ even worst for some droopy lashes. And so we need a whole load of mascara/ fake lash that gives our lashes more volume and curl.

But eyelash extensions are the savior for people like me! coz i would rather lay on my bed for 15 more mins than to sit on my dressing table for an extra 15 mins to get myself ready for work.

i'm lazy!!! ha!

I've tried eyelash extension at 3 other beauty salons and they are all crappy! All of them are not individual extensions. Lash extensions at those salons are done in little chunks of maybe 4 or 5 lashes per chunk. Making it super obvious if one of them were to fall. What i really dislike about their lash extension is that the lashes turns hard when i splash water on my face. And that is really irritating! Imagine having to be super carefully when u are washing your face especially the eye area. *irritating*!

But at Musee Crystal Tokyo, Lash extensions are done with individual lashes, one by one with lots of patience. And the adhesive that is used for lash extension is not applied directly on the eyelids , therefore the possibilities of allergies are cut down to the minimum!

See the difference?? The extensions are super soft and super natural but still at the same time it gave me that voluminous and curlier lashes. Believe it or not, i've got someone sitting just one coffee table away from me and he didn't realize that my lashes are extension but instead thought that i had eye enhancing lens on cause my eye looked different.

And i do not experience hard lashes when in contact with water or patchy eyelashes when one of the extensions fall.

First up will be the nail extension treatment!

To begin, i was given the choice to choose from extensions or just simple gel over lay. And my choose was just simple gel over lay cause i hate it when my extensions got struck between the keys when i'm typing!!

Next, it's the design i wan for my nails. I was totally overwhelmed by the many designed that are available and Miss Yuuko gave me a little help by introducing me to the "only in Musee Crystal Tokyo" designs!! The power stone nails!!!

But, instead of wearing that stone as jewelries, this modern and fashion ladies from Japanese invented the power stone nails. What can be "cool-er" than having your lucky charm on you 24-7!

And my choice of stone is Inca Rose which are knew to have energies such as Love, Power and Healing.

And for me, nothing beats having freshly brewed beer after a long day at work!

I'm a hugeeeee fan of alcoholic drinks. *Not that i'm a alcoholic!* I just enjoy drinking and chilling out with my friends.

Anyways, a little introduction to the beer they serve at OverTime. The name is Starker, brewed with malted barley, wheat and german hops, it is freshly brewed and delivered on a daily basis for all you beer lovers to enjoy.

Starker comes in 2 different taste. Aromatic and Lager. Aromatic is the lighter version of the starker beers. It's golden yellow in color and has a refreshingly clean after taste. Lager in the other hand is a full bodied beer with a stronger and more distinctive aroma.

And with good beer, how can we not have good food!!!

Of course, OverTime serves a wide range of food. Ranging from Pork Knuckle to Asian fried rice and Satay!

Here are the food that i've tried on Food tasting day. Did not had much cause my body was on a hunger strike *sadface* but i might to try some pork from the platters, some veg from the salad and some delicious deep fried beancurd.

Most of the food, or should i say MEAT are pork. Why??? coz Germans loves beer with pork! From roasted pork to stewed pork. u name it they have it!

Next, salad!

And you would expecting GREEN garden salad with the boring old thousand island sauce *ok they do have tat* BUT in Overtime, they serve what i call the "exotic" salad.

Yes, Exotic salads that uses Freshly squeezed lime, Asian or thai chilli sauce as dressing. Not exotic enough?? Check out the ingredients in the 2 different salads that were served.

Asian Salad: simmered pork, young mango, onion rings, minced fresh garlic, chili padi and fresh squeezed lime juice with Asian dressing

Calamari Scampi: lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves, chili padi, onion rings and fresh squeezed lime juice, with Thai chili sauce.

Sweet, Sour,Spicy and Slight bitter-ness from the beer all at one go... Exotic enough yet?

And finally!! my favorite of the night!!! Homemade Style Prawn Cracker! The prawn cracker is not completely hard and crispy instead it's almost soft and chewy. And accompanied with Deep Fried Beancurd which is totally crispy on the outside and soft in the inside, fresh cucumber and Thai chili sauce. This dish is one that you can not miss out!

After using the three mask, my personal favourite is the Rose Crystal & Tourmaline Peptide Moisturizing Duo Lifting Mask. As the fragrance from the mask is the lightest and the moisturizing effect is the most observable. And also as mentioned, it also cares for one of the most neglected areas, which is the under jaw and the neck area.

The 2nd mask that is in favor to me is the Provence lavender nighttime whitening mask. Perhaps the scent of this mask is the reason i made it my 2nd option as it's lavender help soothes my senses helping me to relax and rest better at night.

As for the Alps Spring & Phtoncide Moisturizing mask, i felt a slight itchness after removing the mask from my face so i didnt try it again.

One thing i want to and feel that i must mention is the thickness and the material of the mask. I would say the thickness and material of the mask maybe it's advantage and at the same time it maybe it's disadvantage.

Advantage: I've tried a few other "taiwan branded" mask and i would say they are pretty thin which cause them to tear very easily and the thin material does not "hold" as much formula causing the formula to drip all over. In otherwords, the Lovemore mask does not tear easily and it is pack with more formula.

Disadvantage: I am not very sure what is the LoveMore mask sheets made of but when the mask dries up as i apply it on myself, i felt that the material may "re"- absorb all the goodness that is on your skin back into the mask. i know it sounds weird but i would serious recommend of people to apply the mask for 15 mins for maximum norish.

For those that do not know what is Yu Sheng, Its actually raw fish with shredded vegetables, topped with sour plum sauce in short raw fish salad. Sounds "yucky" but it's taste extremely good and it's even better when its the only dish "i think" that brings friends and family together to do the tossing or mixing of the ingredients. It is usually served during the Lunar New year as it symbolizes good luck for the new year.

And this Lunar new year, Singapore Flyer is giving Prosperity and Good fortune for all with a brand new experience! Yes!I've saved enough money for Fashion and Bridal make up in MakeUpForever Academy! The courses and the tools sure cost me a bomb but i'll say it's all worth the money! I've get the sweetest, prettiest, most talented and the most encouraging trainer anyone could ever ask for! She answers to all my dumb ass questions whether or not it's within what she needs to teach!

After my courses i'm lucky enough to have the chance to work with photographers and models and here are some pictures.

Last item on my 2010 resolution list, Do more MU tutorials!!- Outcome: Fail!!! why, cause i seriously cannot overcome the fact that i have to stare into the mirror to do my make up so.. yah if you dun understand try putting a camera infront of you, stare into the mirror, do your makeup and try to stay in view.

Apart of my 2010 resolutions, some of the other achievements are

1st: i've successfully downsize myself from uk size 12 to now uk size 8!!!!!Yayness!!!

how i do it??? it's really diet disciple.. example: once i had a friend asking me how i slim down, i told her i "quit" eating rice. She replied "i've quit eating rice for more than 5 years but i'm still this "big" *she is really not very big*. During lunch, i realized the reason: she had beef and i had beef too no difference BUT! i had cranberry juice and she had latte! so yah reason is pretty obvious.

2nd: I've took part in several blogging challenge this year and fortunately for me i've won 2 of them. 1st is the most recent Vichy Normderm Anti imperfection contest and 2nd is the Bioessence Celebrity's choice Inch Loss series blogger challenge. And, i own these to all my supportive friends and readers cause all the rallying for votes and all is seriously turning irritating!

So in general 2010 was a pretty good year.

NOW it's the big 2011 "To Do" list!!!

1st: take up hair styling course! coz without knowing how to style hair, i feel like i broke an arm.

2nd: Be more hardworking! i need to go back to the academy more for practice!

3rd: MOST importantly! pass my last paper and get my ass off that school!!!

4th: BE A HAPPIER PERSON =D

Apply a light shimmery eyeshadow at the inner corners of your eyes to give the illusion of bigger brighter eyes...Quoted from many many youtube gurus...

And having sparkly inner eye corners seem to be the trend on the streets of Singapore now. But i'm pretty sure that light shimmer eyeshadow requires you to touch up every few hours even with the best eyeshadow primer and to have even the tiniest additional item in that overly populated make up pouch is a serious pain in the ass plus apart from the eyeshadow you need a brush or any applicator *dun tell me i can use my fingers! unless you have small and pointy finger*

But nonetheless, it's here!!!

Its kind of like an "automatic" sponge tip applicator. The gold shimmer is actually found on the lower part of the stick where you screw it on the applicator as a cap or cover. So as you screw your Shiny eye color wand out for use, the shimmers are already on the applicator and if the shimmer runs out simply place your eye color wand back in to the cap and give it 2 gentle tap.

I'm liking this product cause i have got really sensitive eyes, even the tiniest fall out from the eyeshadow could cause redness in my eyes. And, i need to keep my eyes open for me to get my inner eye corner done. So with the Wink up Eye color wand, there are no fall outs and the applicator tip is pointed! giving me better access to the " hard to reach" areas.

Next, the gold shimmer from the Eye color wand is super intensive! It is actually seen as grey or silver on the sponge tip and in the cap. But once applied, the color turns into shimmery gold! Not only that the color super intensive, the color glides on to the eyes easily and stays there through out the day no smudge no boobooz..

I even had some of that shimmer just below my eyebrows as highlight!

All is good for this product, but like all sponge tips, the applicator is able to catch foundation or whatever you have on before using it. To avoid that, simply make sure that you have enough products on your applicator and apply with a gentle hand...

The swatch of the Diamond Shiny Pearl BB cream may seem heavy and thick. However, it is just creamy and after applying it evenly over my face, it's just like a tinted moisturizer. If you are not the biggest fan of sparklers or afraid that even the slightest glow may turn you face into a disco ball then simply just set the BB cream with powder. I would say this bb cream is good for evening makeup cause it actually gives you that sparkly glamorous look but for day make up what i do was to mix the Diamond Shiny Pearl BB cream with another normal bb cream. This will tone down the shimmers alittle but still able to get that shiny look. The only complain i have with this bb cream is that it only comes in the small tube shown in the picture! Major sadness!

Next, BB cream for Men! yes, nowadays woman need to work harder cause men are trying to look better then us. But then again girls, who doesn't like a pleasant looking person...

I didn't manage to get a photo of the style platinum bb cream but it can be seen in the 2nd picture of this post. It comes in a brown tube with silver and orange wordings so no excuse for your boyfriend to say its girly!

And like all bb creams, The style Platinum is also multi functional. It not only covers blemishes and even out your man's skintone. It contains Nano Platinum technology to help with wrinkle improvement, Eucalyptus extract to restore damaged skin, Ivy extract to help with pore cleansing pores and also it controls skin balance between oil and moisture, etc.

Review: Dr Jart+ Premium Blemish Base

To start i must first state to everyone that i'm not a big fan of BB creams. It's not that i do not like them but to me, BB creams are not in the "i cannot live without list" plus due to my complexion, most BB creams available in our local pharmacies comes in shade that are too light and that will turn my complexion ashy.

Although BB creams are famous for their multi functional use, i do not replace any of my daily skincare routine with it cause for me, BB creams are similar to tinted moisturizers. Apart from not replacing my skin care routine, i do not require much coverage so i hate THICK base! anything thick is thrown out of the window.

So yes! Since it's not in my "cannot live without" list, all the above requirements must be fulfilled! And, the BB cream that i'm reviewing today met all the requirements! The shade is good for my complexion, and it's not thick at all!

Dr Jart+ Premium Blemish Base Sample Pack

As i mentioned above, the Dr Jart+ Premium BB cream is not thick and the shade does not turn my complexion ashy. However, if you are someone that requires coverage, i would recommend for you to use it with concealer.

Uneven skin tone, dark eye circles and some acne on the chin area, typical problems i face. After applying the Dr Jart+ Premium BB cream, my skin tone looks more even and my acne are less visible but my dark eye circles are still very OBVIOUS!!

And here is a picture of me after applying the bb cream, concealer, blusher and setting everything with my loose powder:

In this picture, i only conceal my dark eye ring cause i do not have the habit of concealing my pimples unless its super enormous! So yes, see the difference in my face with and without even the most basic make up.

Therefore, a good base is important and in this case, My Dr Jart+ Premium BB cream did not disappoint me. It's a lighter substitute to the usual liquid foundation. It did not turn my "semi" tan complexion ashy considering the fact that most bb creams are one shade fit all. It is not thick and does not cause my face to turn oily and most of all no discomfort from thick and cakey face.

And before i end, did i mention that bb creams are easier to blend and apply as compared to liquid foundations. no brushes or sponge needed. I just apply them evenly all over my face with my fingers.

It's Xmas! yes we all know cause i've been mentioning that in all of my recent posts. But when it's Xmas, it means it's the end of the year which also means party, party AND more parties! And for those who are not in singapore or for those that is living in singapore but in a cave, we recently had our annual massive beach party, ZoukOut! and i was there with fellow blogger, Clara aka DblChin. So, i would prefer a mask that has a formula with a lighter formula and i believe that a long maintenance is much more effective then to slap products that are too rich and hope for celestial reasons.

Anyways, before i end this post i want to clear up some issues that has happened during the challenge. I would not mention anything about what has happened or the people involved. So for those that has heard of it, here is what really happened. For those that do not know... kindly skip to the next post.

i was ranting one night on twitter that i was super duper irritated with the things people do and yes, i did mention that i wanted to write to the organizer but after my super quick temper subsided, i decided that i shouldn't give 2 poos! about what people do.

However! i was surprised to receive emails with regards to this issue a few days later. And so the story continue.. for me to realize that involved parties have emailed the organizers themselves. One of the emails came with explanation and an apology note for the lack of responsibility and commitment . I did not react much to the explanation n apology as i thought it was "challenge issues" n nothing personal.

In all my replies, i mentioned that I DO NOT HAVE PERSONAL ISSUES with involved parties and there is no need for me to bring this matter further as i believe the judges would take into account all facts.

So yes, the story ends for me here.

i'm writing this because i've heard of people questioning my integrity as a blogger. i am no famous blogger and my blog may not be the best you have ever read BUT! to judge me base on some judgmental person...think about it...

I almost had the shock of my life when i first tried the Sunblock!! The formula was SO watery. i tot there was something wrong with my sample! coz most sunblock are creamy! I knew the sample was ok when i tried shaking the tube. I think there is a tiny ball in it to help mix the formula better. Similar to the Serum, the sunblock's watery nature helps with easy application. What i like about this sunblock is it does not give you that white cast and oily/sticky feeling. BUT water proof?? i dun think so.....

Vichy Challenge - Final Skin Analysis!

It is the final stage of the Vichy challenge!! All 5 challengers went for their final skin analysis to see if their facial condition has improved after using the products for 2 weeks! And here is Jermaine result!!

Previously, her results was:

Hydration Level: 54% = Dehydrated
Shine Index: 17% T-zone: 25% U-zone: 9%

Her Sebum level reflects very low as she was told to remove her make up at the counter just before her analysis:

It's pink brown liner and mascara!!

Not very long ago, i've received a big parcel fulled with loads of products from Eternity Inter-Trade (Singapore) Pte Ltd.

And when i opened the parcel *as if it was boxing day*, 2 products was "screaming to me and almost jumping out from the box", they are the Pink Brown Liner and Mascara!! The packaging and colors looked so super sweet!!!

I was super happy to see both the products because i've seen them on the shelves BUT did not buy them coz.... i'm a make up drama-mama, brown and neutral colors are seldom seen on my face.

So yes here is the liner and the mascara:

Although they are called the Pink Brown Mascara and Liner, the products do not give u pink eyelashes or pink swollen looking eyes. The colors of the mascara and liner are actually BROWN with a slightly red-er under tone.

Let's start with the Liner first:

I believe eye liner is one of the Must have item in our cosmetic bag! Every gal knows that for instant huge dolly eyes, eyeliner comes to mind without fail. But do you know that if u have small eyes and rimming both ur top and below eyelids makes your eye smaller? And although black is the one color u must have, it doesn't go with every look, especially if you wan to be a sweet fairy tale princess.

Look at the difference:

The difference and effects from the black and brown eyeliner is huge! Yes with the black eyeliner my eye looked more define but imagine if i'm in a pink chiffon dress with huge curls on my hair and i'm walking on beige bow high heels. do you think the black eyeliner work??

I like this liner because:
The tone of brown - I have got a few brown eyeliner but none of them has got this tone of brown. As the brown is of a "red-er" undertone, it gives your eye that dolly "watery" eyes look which most Asian girls are trying to get.

It does not smudge or maybe it does..- ok let me explain! I noted no smudge on my eye area at the end of the day when i tried the Pink brown liner. However, i'm thinking that given it's soft redish brown color even if it smudge, you might not be able to notice it. So! it is as good as no smudge!

It doubles up as a eyebrow pencil! - Yes! it does! especially when u have got colored hair!!! Simply use the liner as you would with a regular brow pencil. The soft brown of the liner give ur brows a softer look!

What i do not like about this product:

It is hard to get the color on my eye! i would have go over the some area a couple of time!! i would usually put my eyelid sticker on before i draw on my liner but with this liner i need to draw it on first because with all the tugging my eyelid sticker would have "popped" out and became useless!!

Would i buy the liner again?? yes but as a eye brow pencil =)

Next, The Pink brown mascara!

Similar to the eyeliner, the Brown from the mascara is slightly "red-er". The Pink Brown mascara is a fiber mascara that helps to lengthen lashes. It is water RESISTANT and it is easily removed with just warm water.

I am personally not a big fan of fiber mascara because of the clumps! Some fiber mascara clump so!!! much that they make your lashes look like "what i describe as" cockroach legs! but Thank god the pink brown mascara does not! it give u defined lashes and it lengthens them.

No complains about this mascara but i would say it's not my kind of mascara because i still prefer my full thick and super defined lashes. If you like long and "gentle" looking lashes this is your mascara!

Vichy challenge - Our Last update

This is our last update for the Vichy Normaderm Challenge. My Challenger Jermaine and I brainstormed and tried to keep our entries entertaining and creative. We have shown you guys Jermaine's Normaderm skin routine, Jermaine's eating habit and even getting her good friend to tell us about her skin improvement.

Jermaine also come up with ideas like using a magnifying glass, paper blotters, her cousin's baby as model for her photo entries and even came up with slogans that presents her feelings.

We hope that you have enjoyed our video and pictures as much as we have filmed them. Now that the Challenge has come to an end, it's time for me to sum up this challenge with Jermaine's skin condition before the challenge and her feelings after 2 weeks of using the Vichy Normaderm products.

Jermaine's oily skin can be considered as a "family problem". Most of her relatives, including both her brother and sister suffers from oily skin. Jermaine's problem not only stopped at oily skin. Problems rooted to oily skin such as acnes, redness, uneven skin tone and clogged pores has also plagued her face.

This problem has been a huge obstacle in Jermaine's life. She had to blot her face every other hour, take medicine and apply tons of products to control her outbreaks and the oiliness of her skin.

Jermaine has also seek help from dermatologists that has prescribed Antibiotics, Steroid cream, birth control pills and even recommended her to go for laser and botox to stop the oiliness and tighten her pores.

All these recommended treatments has to be done continuously and they are NOT cheap!

Below are some pictures taken for phase 1 of the challenge.

We can see that Jermaine has got enlarged pores all over her face, uneven skin tone, acne and even peeling skin (due to her previous products).

2 weeks after Jermaine has started using the Normaderm range, her pores size are visibly reduced, acne are less "angry" and much more in control, redness and uneven skin tone are now less visible and her face is now less oily.

Here's a picture taken on the last day of film which is exactly 2 weeks.

" the product is very effective but yet gentle to my sensitive skin, i have never trust drug store products but Vichy has proven me wrong..overall challenge is very fun and i have learnt a lot doing things which i have never done b4 like showing my naked face so openly in the public.

And of coz coming out with videos when i am camera shy. i am very touched by many of my friends who will auto-vote for me everyday without fail.. Also encouraging me from time to time..

My skin is less oily and i do not have inflammed acne that often (which has been bugging me for years). Thank you Vichy for being the solution to my skin problems"

Smells like super rich coconut cream -.- of coz! but the scent keeps me coming back. SERIOUSLY i'm coconut cream addicted now!

The lip balms are super creamy and matte. I'm the kind that loves to pinch my lips but the lip smackers stays as it is and does not shift itself out of my lips *u knw some lip balm make u look like u never clean ur mouth after food*. It also glides onto the lips very easily. And most importantly, it keeps the lips moisturize.

The lip glosses do not smell as yummy as the lip balm but they still smell good. Although they do not shine like most lip gloss, The Lip smacker glosses gives my lips a slight healthy shine and they are not sticky at all!

Vichy skin analysis

During the phase 1 of the Vichy Normaderm Challenge, all 10 nominated challengers went through a skin analysis at the Vichy counter located at Guardian (Tanglin Mall). And of course, i was there with my challenger, Jermaine.

I was pretty surprise to see a PC look alike skin analysis machine there!! The skin analysis machine is able to tell whether or not my challenger's face is dehydrated and how much is her skin's oil level.

So first, enter your personal details.

Next, it's the hydration level!

After that it's the oil level, Jermaine was told to look into the black circle on the left of the screen. And guess wat! it's actually a camera! got flash somemore!!

This camera is actually able to capture the oil level on the skin surface, so yes.. of coz she has got oily skin.

The Analyst customised some Vichy Normaderm products that would best suit Jermaine's skin. The products are used for the Vichy Challenge and they can all be seen in our video updates.

Some quick tip on eating the right kind of food!!

1st, EAT YOUR VEGETABLES!!! coz green and leafy vegetable contains vitamin A that is important to help fight wrinkle and lines on your face and the rest of you body!!! the greener the leafs, the more vitamin A they have.

2nd, Green tea is known far and wide for it's ability to help fight cancer and prevent heart diseases! But did u know that it actually helps to reduce oil secretion on your skin! this helps to achieve healthier looking skin!!

2 Simple Looks with Liese

Yes, it's about my hair again!!! and i admit i'm a narcissism.. someone that has excessive love or admiration of oneself but hey do admit that i share awesome tips with everyone right??

ok today it's about hair styling with Liese! which is pronounced as LEEZAY!!

Here are the two product that i've selected:

Tall and pinky bottle: Liese Smooth hair cocktail
Blue cube: Liese Clear cube wax 01

Liese Smooth Hair cocktail to help untangle stubborn hair tangles
and Liese Clear Cube Wax 01 to keep hair sleek, straight and frizz-free all day

You might be wondering, why would i choose products that keep hair straight when i already have straight hair. I have straight hair but i have stubborn and fizz and stubborn tangles!!

Let's cut the talk short and start with the tutorial!!!!

First hair style of the day is a bangs up hair do which is good for school and even for a date with the one you wan to impress!

Step 1:

Sweep your fringe to the side

Step 2:

Twist your hair bit by bit starting from the parting to create that french braid illusion

Step 3:

Using a bobby pin, secure your twist
Insert the bobby pin midway into your twist facing the end of your twist as shown in the left pic.
Next, Turing the already inserted bobby pin to face the front of your twist as shown in the right pic. push the bobby pin into your twist to secure.

no part of the bobby pin should be visible and your twist is done.

Done with the fringe, next the rest of your hair. You can choose to curl your ends or keep it straight. But i'm sure alot of you have last minute dates and NOT all of us carry a curling tong in your bag so, straight is the most convenient and express way!

So here is how you get that straight and fizz free hair:

Step 1:

Spray ends with Liese smooth hair cocktail and comb your hair through.

You should be able to comb through you hair smoothly

Step 2:

Apply Liese Clear cube wax 01 all over your hair. Make sure you "tame" all stubborn hair.

Apply all over and adjust

And we are done!
Easy!

Second hair done is basically just to add volume to your hair using a Blow dryer and round hair brush.

Simply just blow dry your hair with a blow dryer and round hair brush, this would give your hair volume. After blowing dry your hair, apply some Liese Clear cube wax 01 to make sure your hair remain smooth and fizz free. Make sure that you run your hands at the ends first before moving upwards to your crown area, too much product on top is going to flatten your hair. We want our hair to look health, shiny and bouncy, Not flat and shape-less.

My review of the 2 Liese products:

Liese smooth hair cocktail:

Why i like: The packaging of the hair cocktail come with a pump that allows us to control the amount of product we need better than those that require pouring. The formula is more of a water based than a oil based, therefore it is not greasy and it dries up very very quickly. This product does soften my hair allowing me to comb through even the more stubborn hair balls.

Why i don't like it: This product is seriously not long lasting if applied alone. I believe it is meant for releasing stubborn tangles not to prevent them! It would be good if the bottle could be smaller for ladies to be able to carry it around in their bags.

Liese Clear cube wax 01:

i am so loving this product!! it keeps my hair tame for the entire day! i do not have to apply more throughout the day to keep my hair in place. It is not sticky and non greasy. It does not weigh down my hair and cause my hair to look flat and oily!! But for those that apply leave on hair serum, do be cautious with the amount of products you apply on your hair. It's not always the more the merrier!

Let's get HiP notizied!

Loreal Paris Singapore has recently held a Creative makeup contest in their facebook page. Selected participants are given eyeshadow duos and eyeliner from the recently launched HiP range.

I was invited to their preview party which happened in mid September and i still cannot get enough of the intensity from the pigments of the HiP range!!

So here is my entry!!

Creative, Intense, Bold and Crazy. Words to describe singing sensation and fashion icon of the century, Lady Gaga! and to showcase the intensity of the pigments from the HiP range, i've came up with this Lady gaga inspired look!

Lady gaga's fashion appears to me as... crazy and bold BUT at the same time glamorous and sexy ...so i used:
Platinum 906 for the glamorous and bold
Flamboyant 538 for the sexy
Sliver Lightning 915 and Black Shock 910 for the crazy intensity!

1st - using the Sliver lightning eyeliner with a light hand, gently mark out the shape of the eye makeup.

2nd - applying Black shock eyeliner at the outer corner of the upper and lower eyes as a base. This would intensify the eyeshadow colors even more and also prevent fall outs.

3rd - apply the black eyeshadow from the platinum duo and blend it out towards your mark.

4th - applying Sliver lightning to the inner corner of your upper and lower eye towards the nose bridge as a base. Then pack on the silver eye shadow towards your mark

5th - using the Black shock eyeliner, cut the crease towards your nose and on to your nose bridge. Although this is a fun look but u still want to make sure the cut almost at the same level if no your nose will look like picasso's painting.i did not blend the lines cause i want to keep the look edgy.

6th - using a small blending brush get the purple from the Flamboyant duo and blend it on top of the black eyeshadow, then bring the purple down to your eyebrows and edge of your nose. This would give you that deeper eyes illusion and purple will also soften the whole look.

7th - using a flat brush, line the button part of eye makeup with purple. i'm using purple instead of black cause i do not want the lines to over power the whole look.

8th - using a fluffy flat brush and the silver eye shadow, gently dirt some silver below the black on your lower eye. this would make you r black pop even more.

9th - multiple eyelashes!!! top and bottom!!!

We are done with the eye make up, now moving on to the face.

Face - Conceal uncovered dark eye ring, blemish and lips. Set with powder.

Lips - using the black shock eyeliner as a lip liner, draw your desired lip shape. Then mixing the black liner with lipbalm, apply it as a lip color.

And there u have ur lady gaga inspired look! And yes! it's not a everyday look but COME ON! it's the halloween weekend & the year end parties are coming up!! Let get crazy all together!

Remove your makeup the easy way

I believe every gal that knows how to make themselves beautiful with makeup knows that removing them is as important or in fact more important to avoid breakouts, clog pores, white heads, black heads blah blah blah...

But do u know how important is it to have a good makeup remover??

Good make up remover = less tugging for skin = less wrinkles!!!

YES! the above equation get more and more true and visible as we climb up the age ladder!!

Instead of spending huge amount of money on expensive anti aging products, why not start preventing wrinkles by investing on a good makeup remover!

And where is the one area on our faces that we fear wrinkles the most??? EYES!!!!!

All i did was to pour a 50 cents coin size on a cotton pad and then gently press it on my eye for awhile and remove it with a gentle swipe, most of my waterproof mascara have dissolved and only a few gentle wipes is needed to remove the rest of my eye make up.

And to show you how effective the Biore Eye and Lip makeup remover is:-

A whole load of eye makeup.
i have 5 eyeshadow color, eyelash glue, eyeliner, concealer, white eyeliner, eyebrow pencil and even eyelid sticker!!

As i've mention earlier in this post that i've got huge pores due to laziness, so i can total understand why some say that removing makeup can be a long and painful process especially when u are half drunk + you only have oil based makeup removers. BUT still we have to remove our makeup.... RAWRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!

So what is my solution??? MAKEUP WIPES!!!!

YES! WIPES but not the kind of wipes u use on baby's bum bum, their is pretty similar but makeup wipes is an express solution to hit the sack within secs.

I have been using the Biore Cleansing oil cotton Facial sheets (handy pack) long before i was giving the product to review. Not because i get drunk often or i have no proper makeup remover, its because i'm always on the move and i don't want to risk the chance of having to stay out all night and sleep with my face not properly cleanse!

Th Biore Cleansing oil cotton Facial sheet comes in 3 different packaging. The Handy pack which is a 10 facial sheet pack that is small enough to be carried around in our handbag, The Refill pack and the Regular pack which i am going to talk about.

The regular Pack comes with a 48 sheet refill and a storage case making it more hygienic. Not only that, i'll only need to purchase the refill package when i run out of facial sheet, allowing me to save money!

Like i've mention before the facial sheets is an express solution to removing makeup. i do not need to bring my bottle of makeup remover around with mi and i don't have to worry about messy and oily makeup removers!

This makeup wipe maybe called the oil cotton facial sheet but it does not leave an oily feeling after use. It is also strong enough to remove eye and lip makeup but still gentle to my skin as it is alcohol free and enriched with moisturizing agents. The facial sheet is made of 100% natural cotton fibre so for those with super delicate skin, no need to worry if the facial sheets are too rough.

i would say the Cleansing oil cotton facial sheets is good for general makeup like eyeshadow, eyeliner, foundation, blush, lipstick and lipgloss BUT!!! i would recommend for ladies that cannot live without fake lashes to leave the facial sheet on your eyes for abit longer than your usual makeup remover.

Deep Cleansing Foaming cream
For some reason, this product is not listed in both the vichy website, i guess it's because the foaming cream is also suitable for normal/combination skin types. As this is one of the 2 products i've tried, here is my review:

The deep cleansing foaming cream is a daily facial cleanser that eliminates impurites and oil excess. Apparently from cleansing, it also help to tighten pores. The foaming cream has a thick and pearly texture that can be easily turned into a thick and "creamy" lather. Personally, i prefer "creamy" lather for facial cleansers than to bubbly foams.

After the first wash with the vichy foaming cream, my face felt really clean and fresh but my skin do not feel extremely dry and i dun experience that "face going to crack" feeling. i would not say that my face remained oil-free throughout the day but i would say i did have to blot my face as much.

However, after a few days of using the Vichy foaming cream, my face started to feel alittle dry. So i stopped using it and switched back to my normal/combination skin facial wash. i would say the deep cleansing foaming cream will be a good choice for those with oily skin. For those with normal/ combination skin, this foaming cream is a good facial wash during oily skin days.

My Review:
i always have huge pore problems around my nose area. The pores are due to my serious laziness *sadface*. Anyway, i've tried the pore resurfacing essence for a week and i would say i can see that my pores are not as huge as before. The essence is quickly absorbed into my skin when applied. Although this pore resurfacing essence helps to tighten pores, it does not conceal them giving me a smooth skin surface for makeup.

Active Anti-imperfection Concentrate

Acts at the source of the breakout. Calms burning and redness. Clears the blemish after 24 hours.Instantly, the inflamed area is calmed, redness gradually disappears. The size of the blemish is reduced after 8 hours and cleared after 24 hours.

Sometimes it's the little things in life that counts

I believe quite a few of us have read this note from facebook.

Personally i've read this a couple of times and without fail it makes me think about the little things in life or the people that has always been there for me..

i guess sometimes... it's the little things in life that counts..

MARRIAGE

When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I’ve got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.

Suddenly I didn’t know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised the topic calmly.

She didn’t seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why?

I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn’t talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Jane. I didn’t love her anymore. I just pitied her!

With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company.

She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Jane so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.

The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn’t have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Jane.

When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing. I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep again.

In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn’t want anything from me, but needed a month’s notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a month’s time and she didn’t want to disrupt him with our broken marriage.

This was agreeable to me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day.

She requested that every day for the month’s duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request.

I told Jane about my wife’s divorce conditions. . She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully.

My wife and I hadn’t had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mommy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don’t tell our son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside
the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office.

On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that I hadn’t looked at this woman carefully for a long time. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her.

On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me.

On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn’t tell Jane about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.

She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily.

Suddenly it hit me… she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head.

Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it’s time to carry mom out. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day.

But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn’t noticed that our life lacked intimacy.

I drove to office…. jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind…I walked upstairs. Jane opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Jane, I do not want the divorce anymore.

She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my forehead. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Jane, I said, I won’t divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn’t value the details of our lives, not because we didn’t love each other anymore. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us apart.

Jane seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away.

At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote, I’ll carry you out every morning until death do us apart.

That evening I arrived home, flowers in my hands, a smile on my face, I run up stairs, only to find my wife in the bed - dead.
My wife had been fighting CANCER for months and I was so busy with Jane to even notice. She knew that she would die soon and she wanted to save me from the whatever negative reaction from our son, in case we push thru with the divorce.— At least, in the eyes of our son—- I’m a loving husband….

The small details of your lives are what really matter in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property, the money in the bank. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves. So find time to be your spouse’s friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy. Do have a real happy marriage!
