Talika - Cozycot's 1st blogger event

YAY!! Cozycot, the one stop beauty and lifestyle portal for woman has finally held their first blogger session!!

And at their first blogger session, they featured the Talika Lipocils expert, an eyelash care treatment formulated from natural ingredients.

It's almost the time of the year where all of us are invited to loads of parties!!! and l'oreal Paris would like to wow party goers with their professional backstage makeup inspired, high intensity pigments range or more commonly known as the Hip Collection.

Flown all the way from United states and first in asia, L'oreal Paris Singapore presents a collection of high intensity pigment eyeshadow and eyeliner designed . The HiP collection has been in the western market for awhile already and it is known for its true color payoff and more lasting color impact.

A total of 8 High Intensity Pigments Bright Shadow Duos and 4 HiP Color Chrome Eyeliners will be launch next month in selected Watsons!!

My personal favorite are Riotous and Flamboyant!! and all the Eyeliners!!!

I was invited to a preview party held at Heirloom and Caramel. All attending bloggers were given a chance to try the eyeshadow colors and eyeliners, we even had a mini eye makeup contest and cupcake deco session!!

Plus, i saw many many familiar faces!!

OK! the preview party started with Julyen demonstrating and sharing make up tips with all of
us!

He shared 2 different eyeshadow techniques, two different looks and some information about the HiP eyeshadow and eyeliners.

Apart from the eyeshadows and eyeliners, Julyen also introduced to everyone a new product, BaseMagique.

BaseMagique is a smoothing primer which is applied before makeup. It helps to make lines and pores invisible for a visible and touchable smoothness.

i've yet to try the BaseMagique on my face but it feels really smooth as i spread alittle around my hands.

After the demonstration, it's create your HiP eye makeup look contest!! Each of us were given a face chart whereby we could create a look using the HiP eyeshadow colors on the chart. However, i did mine on a fellow blogger =)

I'm totally impressed with how pigmented the colors are when i picked it up with my brush. I don't push my very precious brush against the pressed colors and rub the colors on like there is no tomorrow!! all i did was 2 gentle taps on the pressed colors and wala! what you see on the duo is what you get on the eye!!

Sounds Exaggerating??? no... wait till u read about the eyeliners!!

The metallic colors for the eyeliners are driving mi crazy!! metallic purple, gold, silver and black!! plus it is so intensity, i would compare the level of intensiveness with a liquid eyeliner. YES! A pencil eyeliner with the intensiveness of a liquid eyeliner and i dun have to repeatedly draw on the same area to get my metallic color, just one firm stroke and you get your color *of coz not that u r poking ur eyeballs out firm la* BUT!!! i find the eyeliners a little "creamy" to be smudge proof especially on oily lids so set it with powder i would suggest!!

and yes! all these sound so exaggerating but these is what i truly feel about the HiP collection.

Last but NV LEAST!! it's FOOD!!!!!!!!! yay!!!

Aqualabel contest entry 3 - Preparation process & Video Challenge

YES! i made it to stage 3 of Aqualabel's "Unravel the blogging power" Contest! Although, stage 1 was a short one month ago, alot of issues and happenings had took place.

Let's walk down memory lane and go through the events piece by piece just like how we go through our wardrobe.

The contest took off with all the contesting bloggers making any impression at the Ngee ann city watsons roadshow, where some of the bloggers *including mi* were being interviewed by Jia Hui from the Yes 933 morning show.

Everything was still so exciting for me then..the Tokyo trip, the 1 year supply of Aqualabel products and IMO best of all is the workshops and the up and coming activities.

Next Stage 2, Aqualabel invited all contesting bloggers to a workshop whereby bloggers could try and have an in depth understanding of the Aqualabel products

Following the invitation was a blog post by all contesting bloggers about the workshop and/or the products. As stage 2 is the first eliminating round, i believe all the bloggers felt the same kind of intensive-ness as i did.

Everyone submitted their best blog post in time and left our fate to the judges.

In preparation for my stage 2 blog post, i take on a different style of presenting the information of the products provided in the workshop to my readers. Making the effort to go through the voice recording that i've recorded during the workshop and writing notes of product information which i felt maybe helpful and interesting to the readers.

And NOW, of course, Stage 3 of the Unravel the blogging power contest, THE VIDEO CHALLENGE!.

Alot of issues happened in stage 2 and issues had cause me to ALMOST withdraw myself from this contest. Reason being that i've always believe that in any blogger event/ contest that i participate in, I look forward to making new friends and of course catch up with those that i've already know. But, if a contest or an event had to cost me a friend then i would have to decide whether or not its the contest/event and its prize/benefit or my friendship.

And, my decision is pretty clear as you read this post that i've choose to carry on with the contest.

In this stage, bloggers have to attend a video workshop held in the Shiseido office by the video experts from Panasonic, record a video of ourselves and our favorite Aqualabel product and edit the recorded video.

i wasn't able to attend the workshop or get my video recorded with the rest of the bloggers as the scheduled timing clashed with my lessons. Lucky for me, I'm able to reschedule my filming.

But! jialat *very bad in dialect* for me to skip the workshop because i totally have NO IDEA how to edit video!!! plus i've always have this very random idea that the organizers will be editing the video..

My filming took place in a mini temporarily "studio" at the Shiseido office and Stella *one of the Aqualabel angel* was my camera girl. I brought no prop with me, so it was just me and my MOIST CHARGE MASK!!

Like the rest, i was given 3 takes and max. 30 sec per take to introduce myself and my favorite Aqualabel product.

The filming process was totally different from my homemade videos, i do not have a mirror to reflect how i look, no comfortable set to sit down, relax and wabble away and worse i keep getting tongue tied*CHECK OUT BLOOPERS BELOW!* Good thing was that i've written some points before filming.

Anxious in this stage as i always will be when i have to do something i don't know and although, i've got a few videos on youtube, i seriously do not know to edit videos =(

AND! to make things worse, my video editing software wasn't able to read my converted video format!! BUT! i've tried, explored and asked around... finally, my video that was edited and submitted!!!

YAY~!! it's not very well done though.
BUT, at least i tried... and thanks to clara for guiding through the quest of searching my raw video in the SD card!!

My video will be uploaded onto youtube and posted on the Aqualabel facebook page soon!! so remember to 'like' my video ok!! the number of likes will be taken into account to whether or not i can move on to stage 4!!!
